OPENING FALL 2008
LBS: A Burger Joint, brings a modern take on an American Classic to Red Rock Casino, Resort Spa

Las Vegas, Nevada (April 24, 2008) – LBS, the classic American burger joint, is coming to Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in the Fall of 2008. Dedicated to offering the best hamburgers in Las Vegas, LBS: A Burger Joint, serves up a modern twist on classic Americana.

LBS was created and is owned by Las Vegas restaurateur Billy Richardson. It will be located inside the main entrance of the Red Rock Casino, Resort Spa, adjacent to the casino floor in the space previously occupied by Tides, which closes April 27.

“We’re looking forward to LBS arrival at Red Rock this fall,” said Ronan O’Gorman, general manager of Red Rock Casino, Resort Spa. “The addition of a great quality burger joint truly rounds out the dining offerings at the property.”

The focus of LBS is to deliver the best hamburgers anywhere in Las Vegas. To this end, Executive Chef Anthony Meidenbauer has employed a culinary philosophy that incorporate artisanal, handmade ingredients and the idea of earth friendly menu items. LBS has no pre-packaged, frozen, mass-produced or flavorless items, just the best ingredients simply prepared. LBS burgers will have fresh all-natural, hormone-free Hereford beef and organic turkey, which will be selected by their in-house highly skilled butcher and ground fresh every day. LBS will also offer a totally Vegan burger, filled with farm fresh vegetables, grains and herbs. The use of house-made sauces, farm fresh, all-natural vegetables, farmstead cheeses and hand crafted buns demonstrates LBS’ commitment to culinary excellence seldom found in a traditional burger joint.

“Our goal was to strip everything back to basics to create the perfect hamburger in a casual restaurant that was accessible and guest-centric,” said Billy Richardson, creator and operator of the LBS concept. “Many restaurants nowadays tend to have this insipid air of self-importance and we are not going to be another so-called burger joint that features menu items like mango-infused sea bass.”

With contemporary and retro design elements, the interior of LBS is reminiscent of the quintessential American roadhouse. The 101-seat restaurant will feature a rugged exposed brick and wood interior, with distressed leather accents and brushed steel fixtures. On the ceiling above the main entrance will be a dramatic 25’ x 30’ American flag constructed using automobile license-plates representing every state in the Union. The wall opposite the entrance will feature an eight-foot-wide, blown-glass sculpture of a Texas Longhorn head of cattle that was especially created for the restaurant.

The bar at LBS will be comfortable and accessible. Almost 40’ long, the hand-crafted bar is made of distressed walnut that has been aged for more than one-hundred years. This heightens the classic bar experience of LBS, which also features a cocktail list with many libations from a simpler, bygone era including the Manhattan and the Rusty Nail. LBS also features a beer selection of more than 40 different microbrew blends, and bartenders that are schooled in the nuances of beer making who act as “beer sommeliers.” LBS understands that burgers and beer are a classic American combination.

Restaurant operations will be led by LBS Director of Operations, Kyle Madden, a veteran of the Las Vegas hospitality industry whose experience includes Tryst and Light.

LBS will join nine other restaurants at Red Rock including T-Bones Chophouse, Terra Rossa Italian, Hachi modern Japanese, The Feast Buffet, The Grand Café, Turf Grill, Cabo Mexican restaurant, Salt Lick Bar b-q, the Sand Bar poolside restaurant and a food court.

LBS begins accepting applications from the general public on August 1. Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa is located at 11011 W. Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89144. To learn more about the resort, visit www.redrocklasvegas.com.
