O 91 TWO TORTUGAS HOLIDAY QUADhis beer is fresh off a win at the GABF, and most will love pouring this barrel-aged quadKarl StraussLLAREVOUT OFR100Tinto their glass. Pouring out the bottle reveals a great-looking amber red and a surprisinglyhealthy head for a high ABV beer. The aroma is brown sugar, oak, vanilla, Scotch (boozy)GNITA and some fruit. The taste is “Whoa!” It’s a punch in the tongue of brown sugar, vanilla, oak, dark fruit, honey, and some cinnamon, all of which gets turned up by the alcohol burn. The finish is very warming and very “barrel tasting” that all seems a little bit young right now. This one will mellow and get even better, but right now we think it’s a little bit too barrel forward. Snap the can open, and you’ll pour outa deep, dark porter with ruby highlights at the extremes. It’s got a good head and is good and where the fun starts; you’ll get a nice mix of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and some pepper notes. It’s smooth and very easy to drink considering the alcohol. It finishes very clean and smooth with a nice OUT OF fruity note that mixes with a little bit of pepper heat from the alcohol. Another beer that is very easy to A T ING drink more than one of!
